Female Founders Speaker Series Season Three

Series kicks off in November with ‘Journalism & Press’ Panel

Burlington, VT (October 8, 2018) – Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) and Hotel Vermont are thrilled to announce the third season of its Female Founder Speakers Series. The first event, with the theme of “Journalism & Press”, kicks off on November 5th, and will feature Paula Routly, co-founder of Seven Days, Anne Galloway, founder of VTDigger, and Nicole Ravlin, co-founder of People Making Good PR.

Season three of the Female Founder Speaker Series includes three events, and each features a remarkable panel of speakers from a unique industry from across the state. Panelists share what it takes to start a company from the ground up, the story of their business, including lessons learned, why they chose to start their business in Vermont, and how our community can best support entrepreneurs. The first two seasons of the speaker series welcomed over 600 attendees and raised more than $8,000 for some of Vermont’s most vital non-profits.

“These events bring home in a powerful way the many benefits of living and working in a small state like Vermont. I am inspired by the many young female professionals who attend these events and eager to be a resource and sounding board,” says Wendy Knight, commissioner for the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, and recurrent attendee. “The collegiality and camaraderie among the female founders is uplifting. I am so looking forward to season three of the Female Founders Speaker Series!”

The dates for season three are: November 5th, January 14th, and March 11th, all hosted at Hotel Vermont. The format for the events features a moderated panel discussion followed by Q&A. The event will offer appetizers, cash bar, and unparalleled networking opportunities. The cost of the event is $15 per person, per event, and net proceeds for the series will benefit Vermont Works for Women, which “helps women and girls recognize their potential and explore, pursue, and excel in work that leads to economic independence.”
